Guided walk around historic Abingdon-on-Thames, claimed to be the oldest town in England. From the time of Aethelwold (943-63) when he was abbot of St Marys, Abingdon became a centre of religious and cultural life. Hear about St Helen's church, the trading area of St Helen's and the County Hall, important when Abingdon was the county town of Berkshire.
Public Transport: X1, X2, X3 and 35 buses from Oxford and surrounding area, car park at the end of Abbey Close.
